According to this post on the Blogs4Brownback site it would seem that Sam Brownback (the Senator from Kansas & GOP presidential candidate) believes that the sun revolves around the earth! I’m sure the ludicrous Geocentric views espoused in the piece (Heliocentrism encourages anti-Americanism?! WTF?!) reflect only the author’s misguided, blind adherence to the bible, not Mr. Brownback’s, right? But who knows, in the last GOP debate, when the candidates were asked about the “theory” of evolution (and the fact that evolution is still up for debate in this country speaks volumes about just how backasswards Americans can be) nearly half indicated that they didn’t believe in it (& one of ‘em was Senator Brownback).
So, here’s a cartoon I did two years ago as part of a full week of cartoons dedicated to “Intelligent Design” which now seems even more appropriate:

That blog is not run by the Sam Brownback campaign. It doesn’t represent Sam’s positions. It’s just a supporter (???) of Brownback.
Though posts like this post tell me that it may be a parody…

I had an inkling the page might be satirical (at the very least I hoped it was).

Oh God.. I guess it was only a matter of time before the rabid ethno-centrism in this country expanded to include all of space and time. When does the American Inquisition start?

“When does the American Inquisition start?”
I think it’s already begun.

Utterly unrelated to Brownback himself: evolution is up for debate for the majority of the earths population. Please note that I’m not defending this sad fact, it is a reality. Check out active politicians (eg. education ministers, senators, district representatives) and recent political activity and public opinion polls from Poland, Sri Lanka, the UK or Ghana. There are certain things that go beyond the influence of the US and are ingrained in local cultures. I recommend spending some time listening to media located outside of the US as they cover local topics not related to the US. The world is a big place and Americans aren’t the only ignorant people on it.
Aside from that, keep on drawing and conversing.

@Messmer: you’re talking about MACROevolution, whereas microevolution has been proven.
